I remember growing up without internet. Everything came over TV, print and radio. I was always fascinated because you could not see the radio waves and how they could penetrate walls etc 馃摶. The signal quality would change also based on your location, you touching the antenna and orientation of the antenna. My grandfather would always be sitting in the living room reading and listening to the radio *it鈥檚 on top of the post. I always admired him for that growing up. I鈥檝e managed to get flrig setup with my ft991a. It鈥檚 pretty awesome how it works. You just pipe all the other program configurations into it! It was a little intimidating at first but it鈥檚 dead simple. I used this guide here So far the programs I鈥檝e managed to run are wsjtx, js8call, direwolf, xastir. I鈥檝e also managed to pipe the audio from the radio into mumble. So now I can operate vhf/uhf/hf all remote ssb, digital or cw. I have not attempted remote ssb or cw. Aside from just listening. It took me a while to realize the hf audio coming out of my cellphone! That euphoria is a great feeling. Like when you finally fix something after hours troubleshooting. ...
