I remember growing up without internet. Everything came over TV, print and radio. I was always fascinated because you could not see the radio waves and how they could penetrate walls etc 📻. The signal quality would change also based on your location, you touching the antenna and orientation of the antenna. My grandfather would always be sitting in the living room reading and listening to the radio *it’s on top of the post. I always admired him for that growing up. Was he just trying to get piece and quiet away from grandma?
I still have one of his shortwave radios. I’d always look at his radios when I visited and he was not watching. I could notice that the frequency band looked different It intrigued me as a child. Is that what planted the seed for amateur radio? His radio is at my parents house. I’d like to put it on my wall on a shelf. That would be really cool.
I think the internet has helped society some. It’s hurt it quite a lot too I think sadly. Attached it a Rush video about radio. Rush and FM/AM radio are awesome. That’s all for tonight. 73
If you get anything from this leave me some coffee money please.
