Title: Auto hot key Date: 2016-04-03 01:00 Slug: autohotkey Authors: Reese Summary: Changing windows keyboard bindings. I have switched from Sublimetext to Vim. Remapping keys in Windows is a bitch. I had to use a program named auto hot key. I was using something called uncap but it quit working. I did not really troubleshoot the issue I just looked for something else. Update As of 4/9/2016 Autohotkey quit working I have switched to another software for remapping keys on Windows. Now I’m using something called sharpkeys. It just writes the rebinds to the registery. The thought of that kinda makes me cringe.

Title: bhyve Date: 2017-09-11 12:58 Slug: bhyve Authors: Reese Summary: Native BSD hypervisor! With the release of FreeNAS 11 it’s now possible to run other operating systems without using the linuxemulation layer. I’ll make a list below of some things I observed. Windows10 - Needed to use updated virtio drivers from RedHat Server 2012 - same as above. CentOS Fedora Arch I guess the next step is trying to put some vm’s in a different vlan.

Title: My Gaming Habbit Date: 2015-08-30 10:20 Slug: kvm-vga-passthrough-linux Authors: Reese Well I have officially ordered a case for my KVM VGA passthrough linux gaming experiment. Not sure if I’ll run Arch or Fedora for this. I did not check the card clearance of the case I got, hope it does not bite me down the road. I have got bit by Arch in the past from a kernelbug and the snapper snapshot program developed by OpenSuse (it has since been fixed around 3.14 I think). ...

Title: BSides Nashville Date: 2016-04-16 00:05 Slug: Mini-roadtrip Authors: Reese Summary: Wild ride through the hills. It took a bit to find some parking. Once parking was aquired everything went off without a hitch. The coolest talk I seen was about ransomware. The most exciting thing was him showing us the trail the hackers had left, also the tools they built to track/graph them. He also spoke of firewall rules to deny domains that where very new. I have never thought about that angle. His talk got the most questions from the audience. ...

Title: FreeNAS oops Date: 2016-03-27 23:05 Slug: FreeNAS-oops Authors: Reese Summary: I broke my FreeNAS Just tried changing the train from 9.3 Stable to 9.10 stable. Everything seemed to break I could not login to the Webgui at all. It was cool to have the option in Grub to revert to a snapshot. Now I have all my services back up and running. So glad I did not have to do a reinstall. I will read more about the upgrade and see if there are some steps that I’m missing. Recently I tried installing PCBSD on my laptop but the wireless did not work.
